Description
Pai Mu Tan (White Peony) – Delicately Floral & Naturally Mellow
Meet Pai Mu Tan—also known as Bai Mu Dan or White Peony—a graceful white tea from Fujian province. Crafted from a single bud and the next two tender leaves, it delivers a pale golden infusion that’s light, fragrant, and supremely gentle.
Compared to Silver Needle (Ying Zhen), Pai Mu Tan offers a fuller flavour with subtle nuttiness and floral sweetness. It’s harvested in spring, naturally withered, and sun‑dried—no rolling or tampering—to preserve its pristine character.
What Is Pai Mu Tan?
A white tea made from the first flush of spring—buds and just a couple of young leaves. It undergoes minimal processing: it’s gently withered and dried in the sun, retaining much of the leaf’s natural sweetness and aroma. The lack of rolling or mechanical handling keeps each leaf intact and delicate.
Why You’ll Love It
• Elegant and Easy‑going – perfect for relaxed sipping
• Low in caffeine – excellent mid‑afternoon or for later in the day
• Pure and natural – unprocessed and minimally handled for authentic flavour
• Clean finish – no bitterness, just a clean, mellow aftertaste
A Note on Origin
Originating in ancient Fujian, the birthplace of white and jasmine teas, this tea is hand‑picked in spring and processed using traditional methods. Only the finest buds and leaves are selected for that signature floral-fruity sweetness and shimmering clarity.
💡 Top Tip
Store your tea sealed in a cool, dry place. Let brewed leaves steep a second or third time—each infusion brings subtle new aromas and flavour layers.
