Description

Assam GFOP – Smooth, Malty & Golden-Tipped

Elegant, rich and quietly powerful — Assam GFOP (Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) is the refined side of Assam. With beautiful whole leaves and golden tips, this high-grade tea delivers a coppery infusion full of deep malty notes, soft woodiness, and a subtle honeyed finish.

Perfect for a smooth morning cup or a polished afternoon pick-me-up, GFOP offers the strength Assam is known for, but with more nuance, aroma, and finesse.

What Does GFOP Mean?

GFOP stands for Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe—a premium tea grading that tells you:

  • Golden: Tips of young tender buds are present, giving natural sweetness
  • Flowery: Subtle floral aromatics
  • Orange Pekoe: Refers to the leaf grade—whole, wiry leaves of high quality

This tea is handpicked early in the season, meaning younger leaves, a more delicate flavour, and a higher concentration of antioxidants like catechins and theaflavins.

Why Choose Assam GFOP?

  • Golden-Tipped Elegance: Higher grade, beautifully made leaves
  • Balanced Energy: Naturally high in caffeine, ideal for focus
  • Antioxidant-Rich: Packed with polyphenols to support overall wellness
  • Versatile: Perfect plain, with milk, or lightly sweetened

A Note on Origin

Grown in the lush lowlands of Assam, India, this tea thrives in fertile clay-rich soils along the Brahmaputra River. The region’s warm, humid climate and seasonal rains create the perfect terroir for strong yet refined black teas.

💡 Tea Tip

Feeling fancy? Try it as a base for a delicate iced tea or pair it with light desserts like honey cakes or almond biscuits to bring out its natural sweetness.
